Founded in 1968, Fastway Incorporated has evolved from primarily an air polution control systems service company, to one which offers various industrial goods and services.
In the 1960s and early 1970s, founder and President, Thomas Earls, was a service engineer and construction superintendent for a major dust collector and fabric filter manufacturer. During his tenure, he was responsible for the construction and installation of tumbling mills, industrial heating ovens, sandblasting equipment and rooms: including baghouses and their associated systems.
However, in his spare time he ran a small fab shop. The fab shop, which produced cutting outfits, tool boxes, and dump truck covers, eventually became Fastway, Inc. Although the company had its humble beginnings as a part-time project, the foundation for this family owned business was in place, and ready to grow.
Thomas D. Earls, Tom's son, spent his early years with the family company learning
the ins and outs of air pollution equipment. He spent these years performing various
services, ranging from service technician to construction engineer, not only for
Fastway, Inc., but also as a subcontractor for major air pollution equipment
manufacturers. In the 1980s, Thomas D. Earls was promoted General Manager of
Fastway, Inc., assigned to oversee all facets of the family business.
In the spring of 1988, Fastway began performing visual emissions testing in
accordance with EPA Method 9. Also known as smoke reading, this service
allows for a third party observer (neither employed by the EPA nor the industry) to
observe and record emissions resulting from various manufacturing processes.
Fastway's smoke readers, who perform this service for clients in many industries, are
tested and certified bi-annually.
Today Thomas D. Earls has overseen tremendous growth of Fastway, Inc. Our company currently manufactures FAS-GLO leak detection tracer powder, distributes a large line of industrial safety products and supplies, and true to our roots, perform many environmental services to major industrial manufacturers.
